“2022 is an exciting year in the West Midlands as the region welcomes the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games. We are keen to welcome as many of our boaters as we can, so you can celebrate this wonderful year with us and bring the colour and life to our waterways for visitors to enjoy. To help this, we’ve created 180m of new, accessible visitor moorings west of Vincent Street bridge on the New Main Line, on the edge of Birmingham city centre. These are open to book between 28th July 8am and 9th August 4pm, for up to 14 days. Bookings will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis, and spaces allocated from the bridge west.
Please note all other visitor moorings within Birmingham City centre will change to 4 days for the period of the games. This will cover the area in between Vincent Street bridge, Farmers Bridge top lock, Including Cambrian Wharf, and Granville Street.
If you’ve got any special requirements, or would like to know more details, please contact our regional enquiries team. During the Games, we’ll be monitoring these moorings at least once a day during the bookable period, and if you require any further information during your stay, look out for Trust representatives on the towpath, or call in at our information centre at Cambrian House, B1 2AN.”
